Traffic Deck Surface Preparation
A parking deck is an exposed, moving, drained structure. Preparation is where most of the project time goes.

ABANG HOME provides coating and surface preparation. We do not provide structural engineering, and we do not claim waterproofing or manufacturer certification. Where a deck needs engineering direction, we work to the consultant's specification. Concrete condition work is described under restoration and preparation, and interior building floors under commercial and industrial coatings.

Parkade and traffic deck questions
What is a traffic deck coating?
A traffic deck coating is a flexible, wear-resistant coating applied to a concrete deck that carries vehicles or pedestrians. It protects the surface of the slab from water, salt, abrasion and tyre wear, and gives the deck a slip-resistant driving surface.
What is the difference between a parkade membrane and a floor coating?
A floor coating is chosen mainly for wear and appearance on an interior slab. A traffic-bearing membrane is a thicker, more elastic system intended to bridge movement and shed water on a suspended or exposed deck. Which one a deck needs depends on the structure and its exposure, so it is confirmed at assessment.
Can existing parkade coatings be recoated?
Sometimes. If the existing system is well bonded and compatible, it can often be prepared and recoated. If it is delaminating, saturated or incompatible, removal is required. We assess adhesion and condition before recommending either path.
Do you work with strata councils and property managers?
Yes. Parkade projects are usually coordinated with strata councils, property managers, building contacts and residents, including staged scheduling so a portion of parking stays available.
Do you provide structural or engineering assessments?
No. ABANG HOME provides coating and surface preparation work. Where a deck shows structural concerns, we recommend you engage a qualified engineer, and we can coordinate our coating scope with their direction.
