Legal basis and consent
We collect and use personal information with your consent, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law — including where processing is necessary to deliver a service you requested, to complete a transaction, or to comply with a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent for non-essential uses, such as marketing emails, at any time.
Data storage
Customer records, media uploads and account data are stored in managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and row-level security so that customers can only access their own records. Data may be stored or processed in Canada and the United States by our service providers. Where data crosses a border, it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and to contractual safeguards with our providers.
Data retention
- Quote requests that do not convert: up to 24 months.
- Completed job, warranty and customer records: up to 7 years, aligned with Canadian tax and business record requirements.
- Financial and payment records: up to 7 years.
- Partner application records: up to 3 years after a decision, or for the duration of the partnership plus 7 years.
- Website analytics and error diagnostics: typically 2 to 26 months.
- Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not re-contact you.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics — website usage measurement. Google may set cookies and process technical data such as IP address in accordance with its own privacy terms. You can opt out through cookie preferences or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Stripe — payment processing, deposits, refunds and fraud prevention. Stripe processes card data directly as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
- Email and messaging providers — delivery of booking confirmations, quotes, invoices, and service updates.
- Cloud hosting and database providers — hosting of the website, customer portal and stored media.
- Mapping and scheduling tools — routing and arrival estimates for dispatched crews.
- Independent ABANGHOME partners — receive only the information needed to deliver your booked service.
Email communications
Transactional emails — quotes, booking confirmations, technician updates, invoices and receipts — are part of the service you requested and are sent for as long as you have an active request or account. Marketing and promotional emails are optional; every one includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect transactional messages.
Partner applications
Information submitted through the partner recruitment portal is used to assess eligibility, verify licensing and insurance, evaluate territory availability, and manage onboarding and settlements. It is reviewed by authorized ABANGHOME staff only and is not published publicly or shared with other applicants.
Customer bookings and project photos
Booking details and uploaded media are used for quoting, job planning, quality review and warranty records. Project photos are only published publicly with permission, or after identifying details such as house numbers, licence plates, faces and documents are removed or obscured.
Canadian privacy compliance
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and we follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) for commercial electronic messages. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccuracies, withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual limits, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

For residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah — you may request to know what personal information we collect, request access or a copy, request deletion or correction, and opt out of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
