Vancouver garages are not like suburban garages. Most are detached lane-way structures behind the house, often single-car, and many sit on concrete poured decades ago. Access, slab age and moisture are the three things we look at first on a Vancouver job.
Because so many Vancouver garages are small, the total project cost is usually lower than a suburban double garage — but the preparation side often matters more, since older slabs are more likely to need grinding through previous finishes and repair of edge damage at the door line.

Most Vancouver garages open onto a rear lane and are detached from the house. We confirm lane access and working space before scheduling, since grinding equipment and materials have to be brought in from the lane rather than through a driveway.
Vancouver's pre-1980 housing stock often has thinner, older garage slabs with surface wear, spalling at the door edge and past sealer applications. Those slabs can usually still be coated, but preparation is a larger part of the job than on newer suburban concrete.
